a journey of excellence not perfection

I'm Farrel, I'm from East Texas, and I'm an author-in-the-making, a foodie, a lover of all things words, and wifey to the other half of my soul ♥

But above all else, I am a daughter of the One True King, radically saved and forgiven, not of my own accord but by His amazing grace.

My story, found throughout the pages of this blog, is one of redemption, forgiveness, and our Father's incredible, incomprehensible love. My story is my own, but chances are, if you're reading this, it's yours too... Or you want it to be. And it can! If this community does one thing for you, let it be to assure you that whatever Goliath you're facing will never defeat you with the King of Kings by your side.

I created Becoming Chayil not only for myself, but in hopes of using my storms to uplift and encourage others who might be going through similar things. Chayil is a beautiful Hebrew word that translates, at its simplest, to "valor". Digging deeper, it's supernatural strength, courage, and virtue in the face of adversity, borne not of trying harder, but of complete trust in and submission to our Heavenly Father. It's His excellence flowing through us to make a difference in an upside down world. It's a battle cry - A reminder of WHO and WHOSE we are - When the battle in front of us seems too big. Because most of the time, it is. And we should never be ashamed to admit that we can't, and we don't want to, truly overcome without Him.

Expect difficulties. Expect setbacks. Expect the fight of your life. But more importantly, expect victory and freedom. It will feel impossible at times, but that's why He made His daughters warriors.

That's why He made us women of chayil.
